| LRE 2112 - Business Law I 2 hours credit Comprehensive study of the legal principles that govern the various roles, relationships, rights and obligations of today's citizen, consumer, business person and funeral director. The course shall emphasize contract law with its specific rules and also review the legal systems of the United States, including creiminal law, law of negligence and torts, and the purchase and sale of goods. LRE 3152 - Business Law II 2 hours credit Covers all commercial contracts, the Uniform Commercial Code, sale of goods and services, commercial paper, promissory notes, and warranties. Also covered are other business aspects including corporations, partnerships, employment aspects, workers' compensation, and bankruptcy. |
| LRE 4192 - Funeral Service Law & Ethics 2 hours credit A procedural course which presents the principles of mortuary law and ethics essential to the successful practice of funeral service. Topics presented as they relate to funeral service are: warranties, wills and estates, the legal status of deceased humans, custodial rights; funeral directors' rights, duties, and liabilities; liability for funeral expenses; and regulations pertaining to funeral homes. Also covers state laws and regulations. |
